I'm not going to explain the story, so if you want to read it, click here! http://gringabrasileira.blogspot.com/2011/02/338.html (or copy and past the link... do whatever you gotta do!)
Anyway, this is amazing! Look at the kind of faith these people had. The dude's daughter was DEAD. She was a goner. But he knew that Jesus could raise her from the dead... what?! Really?? And then this poor lady had been bleeding for 12 years and she thought that if she just got even a drop of Jesus' power that she would be healed. She didn't want to ask Him to heal her or talk to Him or aaaaaaanything. She just knew that if she even touched his jacket, she'd be alright. His jacket. Not even His arm hair or His big toe. His... jacket.
Go read the story again.... I'll wait.
Alright, amazing, right?! Look at their faith! They knew, they knew who Jesus is. They didn't doubt, they didn't question. They knew that if God wanted it to happen, that it would happen. This is incredible. They didn't ask Jesus to help them pass a test. They didn't ask Jesus to heal their dog. They asked Him to RAISE THE DEAD and CURE AN INCURABLE DISEASE. I'm not saying that we shouldn't talk to God about the little things... but so many times that's all we do. So many times we ask God for the small things but don't believe He can do the big things. We don't believe that if we ask God for great things that He'll come through.
God doesn't always give us what we want. But God puts desires in our hearts. And it's those desires that God will give us. Like, I've struggled with this for 18 years! And now, I'm getting it. I didn't know why God wouldn't give me what I wanted and I didn't know how my prayer could change His mind. I guess I still don't get it all. But when we're close to God, what He wants becomes what we want. And then when we ask God for it, it might be a really, really hard and difficult fight to get it, but we get even closer to God in the end after pursuing Him.
So... faith. Their faith is incredible. I want faith like that. Faith that knows that if God wants to, it's gonna happen. Just gotta ask.
