As cliché as this is...

What I'm about to say is probably something everyone has heard before and with Thanksgiving just ending a couple of days ago, the timing of this post is incredibly cliché, but God has definitely been working with me on this topic.

A few weeks ago, my prayer warrior class teacher talked about being thankful for everything. He talked about going back to the basics. The basic basics. Things like waking up and thanking God that you didn't fall off the bed in the morning and then taking a shower and thanking God that you have water and hot water at that!

What would happen if we really chose to live a life of thanksgiving? 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live."

Thank God no matter what happens. No matter what happens. If we do this, the other two things God commands us to do in these verses happen naturally. When you're thankful, you tell God. And when you're thanking Him for everything no matter what, you're cheerful. You don't have time to focus on the negative.

This week, for Thanksgiving, one of the biggest things I could think of that God has just poured out His blessing on me with is my roommates! My first roommate ever, Letícia, is absolutely incredible! And my current roommates, Sarah and Ariel, are amazing!! God could not have done a more fantastic job of rooming me with the right people. I LOVE YA'LL!!
